And the record plays again..

I thought I'd mix it up and make a fashion blog. Ha.. haha.. Ahem. Anyways, I was fashion blog surfing, and I just constantly feel like something is missing. I read, "I finally got my new Miu Miu shoes today.." While, Miu Miu is absolutely fabulous, it's really not doing any one any favors. I could crack open a Vogue or an Elle and see that exact pair, with reviews and pricing. I've spent the past four years of my life globe trotting, and there is just so much out there. Fashion is beyond the thousand dollar shoes, the stick thin models, and snobby critics. There are massive amounts of wonderful clothing pieces that won't make me lose my apartment and end up on the streets begging for change to get an Hermes bag. Now, don't get me wrong, I can admire a beautiful piece of clothing or a fantastic accessory as much as the next fashionista, but I want to focus more on the small finds. The thrift shop finds. The street vendor finds. The Wal-Mart finds. Yeah, I said it. Wal-Mart. I believe true lovers of fashion can see past the labels and the hype, and find glamor in every nook and cranny.

Now, I'm not saying other fashion bloggers don't do these things, I am just doing this because, well.. I want to. It's the internet. I can do pretty much whatever I please.

A bit about myself, I suppose. I am a 19 year old woman living in Philadelphia, sharing a very cramped apartment with my bestfriend and my boyfriend. I am a junior in college and I am studying Psychology and Art, and prepping for Law school. I have been sewing since I was 10 years old, and designing since I was 7.

I have personal feelings about fashion, but first and foremost, I believe fashion is personal. I don't believe in rules. If you want to wear a fanny pack, bunny ears and crocs, by all means, go ahead. It's your body, your canvas.

I think that's enough of an intro for now, as I have exams in about 10 hours.
